Abstract

Governments worldwide design legislation to decrease environmental pollution. Five reasoning chains have been developed in this paper by using the Context-Intervention
Mechanism-Output-framework. This framework explains in which context firms apply certain green sourcing strategies, triggered by environmental legislation, influenced by
moderating and mediating variables and which results are expected from these strategies. Future research to empirically test these reasoning chains are proposed.
